Books are Enough

The Power of Free, Self-Selected Reading

Waiting for Thermidor

The Thermidorian Reaction refers to events during the French Revolution. There are many excellent books in this area. In general, we use the term to describe the point at which some “revolution” reaches its most radical point and the political pendulum begins to swing back towards the middle.

During the French Revolution, the end of the “Reign of Terror” and Robespierre marked the start of the swing of the pendulum.

The current education reform (sic) movement is moving into a new radical phase with RTTT and Common Core. We are facing more testing than ever before on the planet. Robespierre and Marat have risen from the grave. Teachers, students, parents, and public education are under attack.

I am waiting for Thermidor.
